Blog No. 21 – Merry Christmas
Christmas in China is not the same as in the United States; nevertheless, we got into the Christmas spirit by engaging in some holiday activities.
We decorated our Christmas tree, made gingerbread houses, and decorated sugar cookies. We attended Quinlan’s and Brennan’s Winter Pageants and the Shanghai Centre Holiday Party. Then the four of us ate Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas day brunch with friends. Anh Thy also cooked a turkey dinner, including all the fixings, for our family Christmas dinner. At $40 per pound for an imported turkey breast, it was probably the most expensive dinner we have eaten in Shanghai!
Finally, to complete the Christmas spirit, Santa Claus visited us! The boys were really excited and happy with their gifts. Quinlan got a robot and some Transformers while Brennan received a train set and some toy cleaning supplies.
We hope everyone had a happy holiday!
